Are your mixes really easy to prepare and make?

Here are just a few tips and tricks to make your cake. Our mixes are tried and tested and ready for you to bake at home. When you bake without Gluten and all the added nasties you find in other mixes, a little extra care is required during the making and baking process to get the best result. Gluten Free mxes should be baked on a lower temp. for a longer period of time to keep the end result moist. All mixes have a suggested baking temp. on the label for you to follow. Always pre heat the oven and once you place in the oven, set the timer and try not to open and close the oven door too much. This will prevent your cake dropping slightly, but it doesn't mean it won't taste amazing. Gluten is an ingredient that is most responsible for the structure of baked goods, so it is important to mix the wet and dry ingredients together on a low speed so you don't over mix and air rate the mixture too much. Gluten does help a cake to rise so our cakes won't be huge in size, but they will still be dense, moist and yummy! ALL OUR MIXES CAN BE MADE INTO MUFFINS OR CUPCAKES. EACH CAKE MIX WILL MAKE AROUND 6 LARGE MUFFINS OR 8 SMALLER CUPCAKES. JUST ADJUST THE COOKING TIME WHEN COOKED THIS WAY.

How do you make your mixes sugar free?

All our cake cake mixes and a few baking mixes are produced using a natural sweetener derived from the Birch tree called Xylitol. Xylitol is a substance that is categorized as a sugar alcohol (or polyalcohol). Sugar alcohols are like hybrids of a sugar molecule and alcohol molecule. Their structure gives them the ability to stimulate the sweet taste receptors on the tongue. Typically, Xylitol is found in small amounts in many fruits and vegetables and is therefore considered natural. Please see "Our Story' section of the site for further information on Xylitol.
